MAMA.Org has a ZERO TOLERANCE to the use of
Methadone as it is widely misused, abused and the cause
of thousands of deaths yearly. We are here to provide education, support and comfort to those who have lost a loved one to any and all prescription drugs. No matter how your loved one consumed the deadly drug plays no role in our efforts to assist. Many have died while under the care and monitoring of a doctor as well as those you were just attempting to get high, any life lost is too many.
Many people are seldom warned of the dangers that may effect them when consuming these drugs. Addiction to prescription drugs is an epidemic in this country that rarely receives the attention that is needed.

MAMA was created after the death of my 24 year old son on June 11, 2006. He was prescribed Methadone for pain due to a recently diagnosed back problem. Although he took this drug as his Pain Management doctor recommended he was dead 40 hours after his first dose. If my son had been told how dangerous and lethal Methadone can be he would have never taken it.
As a medical professional myself I have witnessed countless negligent acts that have been swept under the table or just simply ignored. I have watched patients treated as lab experiments without their knowledge. As a society we have a great trust in the medical profession. Mostly this is due to their extreme level of education. They are the experts, they should know what they are doing. But, do they really? How well is your care being handled?
Your RIGHTS as a patient are very limited. Have you tried to retrieve your own medical records? Yes, this can be achieved but usually for a price, yet they can be sent to another medical agency free of charge. How much of what you tell your medical practitioner is actually put on record? Most people never know because they can not access their own records unless they can afford to do so.
Any and all persons should be told when given a drug or treatment if there is a history of death caused by this action. People should have the right to choose if they want to risk the possible outcome of any drug or therapy. Every year an estimated 200,000 Americans die from adverse reactions and side effects. Thousands of other Americans are seriously injured from such practices yearly.
How sure can you be that when medical assistance is sought that they are competent in your care.
Have you ever just knew or felt that everything would be better once you or someone you knew arrived at the emergency room for professional care and treatment? Have you ever lost a loved one or freind and just assumed everyone did what they could to save their life? Are you really positive without a doubt that medical staff was qualified and without any further influences gave the best care and treatment? MAYBE WE NEED TO BE A LITTLE LESS TRUSTWORTHY........YOUR LIFE MAY COUNT ON IT. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW !!!!!!!

Our goal is to make changes for safer medical care for patients and family. Also, to help educate the public and allow people to tell their stories and experiences. Currently many issues plague this country that require immediate reform.
If we unite we can make a difference. Every life is priceless and we deserve the right to know the risks that are set upon us everyday by the people we tend to trust the most, Doctors. Hospitals, Pharmacies, & etc.
